Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and I can't help but ask: How many of you bake for this special occasion? There's something so heartwarming about whipping up sweet treats for your loved ones, isn't there? From licking bowls to indulging in leftovers, baking for Valentine's Day truly is a labor of love.
One of my favorite memories from this season is spending time in the kitchen with my little man. The laughter, the mess, and of course, the delicious creations we make together are priceless moments that I cherish dearly. Although I didn't snap any pictures of us on our baking adventures, I still wanted to document our goodies and this memory in a creative way.
I recently put together a 12x12 double page scrapbook layout using the "Love Notes" collection from Close To My Heart. The combination of the "Love Notes Paper Packet," "Love Notes Coordinating Cardstock," and "Love Notes Stamp + Thin Cuts" allowed me to capture the essence of our Valentine's Day goodies beautifully. The hearts exploding out of the envelope and spreading into the air perfectly match the title of the page, adding a whimsical touch to the layout.
To add a pop of color and sparkle, I used Peach Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and the Candy Apple Shimmer Brush on some of the embellishments. The result? A vibrant and eye-catching layout that truly captures the joy and love we put into our baking.
I paid attention to the details, using the same striped paper from the envelope lining as the main patterned paper for the second page strips. By adding the light pink dotted paper to the edges, I was able to soften the busy look and make the hearts on the second page stand out even more. The color coordination and thoughtful design elements brought the entire layout together seamlessly.
