Valentine’s Day is all about sweet treats, love, and making memories—and what better way to celebrate than by combining baking and scrapbooking? There’s something special about mixing flour, sugar, and a little bit of love into homemade goodies, especially when my little man is right there beside me, covered in sprinkles and giggles. While I didn’t snap photos of our baking adventures (too busy taste-testing!), I knew I wanted to document the memory in a scrapbook layout.
That’s where the CTMH Love Notes Collection came in—because if I couldn’t capture the flour-dusted countertops, I could still scrap the love! 🎨💌

For this 12x12 double-page Valentine’s Day scrapbook layout, I wanted to recreate that warm, happy, and love-filled kitchen vibe. Using the CTMH Love Notes Paper Packet, Coordinating Cardstock, and Love Notes Stamp + Thin Cuts, I designed a layout that feels like a hug—soft colors, layered details, and a little extra sparkle! ✨
✔ The exploding hearts coming out of the envelope? ✉️💖 That’s pure magic! Just like how love (and flour) ends up everywhere when you bake with kids!
✔ The dashed movement lines? They add a sense of whimsy—almost like you can see the love floating through the air!
✔ The word ‘love’ added to some of the hearts? It emphasizes the theme, making the layout feel like it’s literally spreading love!
✔ The details? Candy Apple Shimmer Brush & Peach Exclusive Ink gave the embellishments that extra pop because every layout deserves a little sparkle!
✔ Dimension? Some hearts are popped up on foam tape, adding depth—just like layers of cake!
The Little Details That Make This Layout Special 💖
✅ The Second Page Connection – To make the layout feel cohesive, I used the same striped paper from the envelope liner as the patterned paper for the second-page strips. This small touch unifies the design and makes the whole spread flow beautifully!
✅ The Softened Edges – Since the second page was getting a little busy, I used a light pink dotted paper around the edges to make sure the hearts stood out instead of getting lost in the background!
✅ The Inspiration Behind the Layout – I chose this layout because of the treat box captured in one of the photos. When I look at it, I can almost smell the warm, sugary goodness inside. I imagine opening that box—would the scent of chocolate, vanilla, or cinnamon fill the air first? That moment of pure joy is exactly what I wanted to bring to this page!
✅ The Finishing Touch: Journaling with a Giggle – To tie it all together, I added a short journal entry:
“Baking is my favorite way to ‘spread love.’ It has absolutely nothing to do with licking the bowl or getting to eat the leftovers! 😂”
