💕 Step-by-Step: Creating The Double-Matted Heart Valentine’s Day Card

The magic of this Valentine’s Day card is in the double-matted heart design, which adds depth and contrast to the focal point! Let’s bring this design to life, one heartfelt detail at a time!

Start with a Striking Base

Pink and white marbled cards with gold splatters on a wooden surface, featuring white flowers. Text: "ThisChickLovesPaper" and "Stampin' Up!".
💖 Marbled magic meets modern elegance! These backgrounds are giving luxury, style, and pure Valentine’s Day perfection! Who knew simple layers could make such a statement? ✨

Cut Basic White Thick Cardstock to create an A2 card base.

Add a background layer of Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Add a block layer of  Melon Mambo Cardstock block.

Separate the Marbled Elegance from the Melon Mambo block bottom with a strip of Stampin’ Up! Gold Foil Sheets for a clean, elegant foundation.

Use Melon Mambo Cardstock and White Willow Cardstock to create a double-matted heart shape. The layered effect adds a beautiful contrast and makes the centerpiece pop.

💌 Stamping the Perfect Sentiment: Making ‘LOVE’ Stand Out

How a simple stamped sentiment makes this design feel even more personal.

Blue Valentine's theme: teddy bear, heart, dress, and floral designs. Text includes "I Love You," "Be Mine," "Valentine." Mood: romantic.
💌 The CTMH Love Notes Stamp & Thin Cuts set is pure Valentine’s Day perfection! This elegant ‘love’ sentiment adds the perfect finishing touch—simple, bold, and straight from the heart! 💖✨

I stamped the word ‘LOVE’ from the CTMH Love Notes Stamp & Thin Cuts using Melon Mambo Classic Stampin’ Pad.

This bold sentiment is simple yet impactful, setting the tone for the card.

While this particular set is no longer available, Stampin’ Up! offers a variety of beautiful ‘love’ sentiments that would work perfectly for this design. Be sure to explore their selection to find the perfect fit for your project!

🌿 Floral Flourish: Adding Romantic Embellishments to Your Design

Stamp set "Regal Flora," pink and red ink pads, and floral cutouts on white wood. Flowers and text decorate the setting.

A mix of florals and sprigs creates the perfect Valentine’s vibe.

Stamp florals from the Regal Flora Bundle in Melon Mambo Classic Stampin’ Pad and CTMH Flamingo Ink for soft, romantic layers. If you don’t have CTMH Flamingo, the Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin’ Pad is a great substitute. Add sprigs from the Hearts of Elegance Bundle stamped in Garden Green Classic Stampin’ Pad to bring the arrangement to life. For added dimension, use foam tape to layer your florals around the heart.

✨ Gold Foil & Sparkle: The Finishing Touch for a Luxurious Look

Heart card with "love" text, pink flowers, and gold accents on a marbled background. Surrounded by white and pink flowers on wood.
🌸 Florals, shimmer, and a whole lot of heart! This handmade Valentine’s Day card is proof that layers + love = perfection! Who’s ready to craft their own?

A little shimmer goes a long way—here’s how to get it just right!

Die-cut sprigs from Stampin’ Up! Gold Foil Sheets using the Poinsettia Petals Dies to complement the marbled background. Top it all off with Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments for a perfect pop of shimmer.

💡 Pro Tip: Want a softer look? Replace the Gold Foil Sheets with ribbon. Stampin’ Up! offers a variety of ribbons that can add texture and elegance without the extra sparkle.
