Buckle up because we’re taking off into another high-flying scrapbook adventure! If you’ve ever soared above breathtaking landscapes on Disney’s iconic Soarin’ Ride at California Adventure, you know it’s an experience worth remembering
From the anticipation of waiting in line to the exhilarating journey across the world, this 12x12 double-page scrapbook layout captures all the magic—and I did it using Close To My Heart’s (CTMH) “Let’s Go Anywhere” collection with a little Cricut® creativity!
Bringing the Soarin’ Experience to Life in a Scrapbook Layout
Disney memories aren’t just about the rides—they’re about the entire experience. My son and I kicked off our Disney day with Magic Hour, scoring first-in-line bragging rights for Soarin’! The metal hangar walls, vintage aviation decor, and sense of adventure had me instantly thinking of CTMH’s “Let’s Go Anywhere” paper pack—its rich blues, greens, and grays were a perfect match for the ride’s atmosphere.

Designing the Layout: From Cricut® Cuts to Custom Details
✈️ A Title That Takes Flight
When it comes to Disney ride scrapbook layouts, nothing makes a bigger statement than an iconic ride logo as the title! I found the perfect “Soarin’” SVG on Etsy, cut it with my Cricut®, and boom—instant Disney magic!
For the title, I wanted it simply to be the name of the ride! I found this SVG on Esty.
🏗️ Creating the Hangar Wall Effect
To mimic the metal walls in Soarin’s queue, I scored gray cardstock with vertical lines and lightly brushed CTMH ink over the ridges.
💡 Pro Tip: Apply ink sparingly to raised edges to create natural shadows—it’s an easy way to add depth and realism to any background!
🛫 Movement & Directional Elements
A layout about flight has to feel dynamic, so I:
✅ Added arrows to guide the eye (and mimic travel signage).
✅ Placed dashed lines behind the planes to convey movement.
✅ Sprinkled in stars to represent destinations (because this ride lets you see the world! 🌍
