Shake Up Your Christmas Cards with Non-Traditional Colors: Purple Holiday Cards Using Stampin’ Up!
Who says Christmas cards have to stick to the traditional red and green? This holiday season, I decided to step outside the box and try something new: purple Christmas cards! This twist on the classic holiday card theme adds a regal and elegant touch to your Christmas greetings, and I’m excited to share how I brought it all together using Stampin’ Up! products and their amazing Color Coach.
Why Use Non-Traditional Colors for Christmas Cards?
Non-traditional colors like Blackberry Bliss and Fresh Freesia give your Christmas cards a modern, unique flair while still capturing the holiday spirit. Purple shades, paired with green & gold accents, exude an elegant and peaceful energy perfect for the season. The stamped images from the Peaceful Season stamp set, stamped in Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin’ Pad, give the card a festive yet luxurious look.
Finding Color Inspiration with the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach
For this project, I turned to the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach to help me find the perfect color combinations. If you haven’t used the Color Coach yet, it’s a must-have tool based on color theory, designed to take the guesswork out of pairing colors.
As I was working with the Regal Winter DSP, I wanted to match the dominant color—Blackberry Bliss—with complementary or monochromatic shades. Using the Color Coach, I discovered that Berry Burst, Fresh Freesia, and Bubble Bath all aligned beautifully in the monochromatic range. I ultimately chose Fresh Freesia to complement the paper, as it added a soft, magical feel to the cards without overpowering the design.
**The Color Coach will be available to customers in November 2024, so make sure to grab one for your crafting projects!
