But here’s the thing… the fudge? Gone in minutes. The memories? Priceless. So this year, I decided to preserve the magic with a scrapbook layout that’s as delicious as the recipe itself!

🎨 Materials You’ll Need: The Perfect Holiday Palette!
Before we dive into the design, let’s talk supplies! To bring this festive layout to life, I combined bold holiday hues with vintage baking vibes—the perfect mix of cozy and classic!
• Basic Black 12” x 12” Two-Tone Cardstock (for photo mats and transitions)
• CTMH Toffee Cardstock (Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake Can Be Substituted)
• CTMH Freshly Baked Digital Art Kit (for embellishments)
• Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends (for coloring the candy canes)
• Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints Because every holiday layout needs a little candy magic!
• Stampin' Up! Early Expresso Classic Stampin' Pad For vintage-inspired inked edges.
• CTMH Gold Shimmer Brush For a festive sparkle (because holiday layouts deserve to shine! ✨).

✂️ Step-by-Step: How to Build This Festive Holiday Recipe Scrapbook Layout! 🎨✨
To ensure my layout is perfectly balanced and easy to replicate, I designed it in Design Space®️. This tool helps me visualize the final product and determine the exact measurements needed for each element, such as photos, embellishments, and borders. By using Design Space, I can place and adjust all the pieces digitally, making the physical assembly process smoother and more efficient. It’s a fantastic way to plan every detail before cutting the materials!
Start with the Base – Build a Strong Foundation!
Every masterpiece starts with a strong foundation! For this 12x12 double-page layout, I used two coordinating patterns from the Regal Distressed Patterns DSP as my backdrop. To create clean, defined sections, I added thin strips of Basic Black cardstock between the different patterned papers—this little trick makes everything look polished and cohesive!
Next, I created double-matted base panels for the center of each page:
✔ Bottom layer: CTMH Toffee cardstock (Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake can be substituted).
✔ Top layer: Stampin’ Up! White Willow cardstock.
These matted sections provide the perfect spot for journaling, recipe details, and photos!
✨ Add Sparkle & Shine – Because Holiday Magic Needs a Glow-Up!
A little shimmer goes a long way in making a layout feel extra festive! I splattered Gold Shimmer Brush across the background to add a subtle but stunning glow. The result? A layout that twinkles like Christmas lights and feels just as magical!
💡 Pro Tip: Want to add even more sparkle? Lightly brush shimmer onto candy canes, peppermint embellishments, and photo edges for a frosted holiday effect!
📜 Center Panel & Recipe Journaling – The Heart of the Layout!
No recipe scrapbook is complete without the actual recipe! That’s why I dedicated two matted sections—one for ingredients and the other for step-by-step instructions.
✔ I layered CTMH Toffee (Crumb Cake) and White Willow cardstock on each page to create designated spaces for the recipe.
✔ Instead of handwriting the recipe, I chose to type it in a fun, easy-to-read font—because let’s be real, this recipe is LONG, and I didn’t want to run out of space!
This section makes the layout beautiful and functional—because what’s better than a scrapbook page that doubles as a keepsake recipe card?
📸 Double Mat the Photos – Layer for That Extra Pop!
Every photo deserves to shine, so I double-matted my pictures to create a rich, dimensional look.
✔ Photo mats: Basic Black (for contrast), Toffee (for warmth), and White Willow (for brightness).
✔ Final touch: I inked the edges of the Toffee cardstock with Early Espresso Ink to add a soft, vintage warmth that ties everything together beautifully!

✔ Candy Cane Accents – Cut from the Freshly Baked Digital Art Kit and colored with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends for a hand-crafted, realistic look!
✔ Handmade Poinsettias – Created using Poinsettia Petals Dies, then inked with Garden Green Classic Stampin’ Pad to add lifelike depth!
✔ Peppermint Embellishments – Because what’s a holiday treat layout without actual candy-inspired embellishments?
