Updated: Mar 16

Two floral cards with "Grateful for You" text on a teal background. One is blue, the other purple. Pine cones add a festive touch.
Grateful for You”—a card full of elegance and heartfelt appreciation! 💜✨

You know that aha! moment when you realize you’ve been thinking about something totally backward? Yeah. That happened.

When I first created this stunning, layered, floral-infused beauty, I had no clue that the leftover scraps from this design would be PERFECT for another card! So if you’re following along, Card #1 actually came from this card’s leftovers.

(I know, I know—I did things in reverse. 🤪 But hey, creativity doesn’t follow the rules!)

✨ This is a quick, easy, and elegant thank-you card that makes every piece of paperwork its hardest! And the best part? The cut pieces from this card automatically give you a head start on Card #1!

💡 Want a two-for-one craft sesh? Start here, then hop over to Card #1’s tutorial to use up those extras!

Supplies You’ll Need for This Regal Winter DSP Thank-You Card Tutorial

Before we dive in, let’s talk supplies! This card features Stampin’ Up!’s Regal Winter DSP, bold Blackberry Bliss, delicate florals, and luxe metallic details—but for the full materials list (including cardstock, inks, and embellishments), head over to Blog #1.

Here’s a quick peek at what you’ll need:

✂️ Regal Winter DSP – Featuring Blackberry Bliss & Night of Navy!

📜 Basic White Thick Cardstock – A sturdy base for a professional finish.

🖊️ Stampin’ Up! Deckled Circle Dies – The focal point of this design!

💌 Autumn Expressions Stamp Set – For the perfect thank-you sentiment.

🌟 Brushed Silver Foil & Silver Sprigs Dies – Elegant metallic accents.

🌸 Regal Flora Stamp & Thin Cut Bundle – To add a floral touch!

✨ Adhesive-backed embellishments – Because every card deserves a little sparkle!

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Make Card #2 in This Regal Winter DSP Thank-You Card Tutorial!

Follow these labeled cutting guides for a seamless and organized crafting process. Each guide specifies which paper to use and includes precise measurements for easy assembly!
Planning = crafting success! Follow these guides for a seamless assembly. 🚀”

Planning = crafting success! Follow these guides for a seamless assembly. 🚀

💡 Pro Tip: Organizing your cut pieces by color and shape will make assembly a breeze—no more hunting for that one perfect piece!

Step 1: Prepare Your Card Bases

Crafting materials on teal background: floral paper triangles, purple cardstock, ribbons, "THANKS" card, "Grateful for You" circle, floral accents.
Cut, layered, and ready to assemble! These elements bring depth and texture to the final design.

1️⃣ Cut Your Cardstock:

Start with six sheets of Stampin’ Up! Basic White 8.5” x 11” Thick Cardstock. Cut each sheet in half to create twelve 8” x 5.5” pieces. (I always cut one extra as a backup—just in case!)

2️⃣ Score for Perfect Folds:

Using a scoring tool or bone folder, score each piece at 4.25” along the 8” side to create crisp, professional folds. This will give you twelve card bases, ready for your design!

💡 Pro Tip: Want that flawless fold? After scoring, use a bone folder to burnish the crease for a smooth, polished edge. No cracked cardstock here!

Step 2: Cut the Regal Winter DSP (Cutting Guide A)

Cutting Guide A: “Precision is key! These diagonal cuts set the foundation for a perfectly layered card. ✂️📏

1️⃣ Choose Your Designer Paper:

Grab a 12x12 sheet of Stampin’ Up! Regal Winter DSP.

For this card, we’re using a stunning purple floral mix to add a touch of elegance.

2️⃣ Follow Cutting Guide A:

Using your paper trimmer, cut the DSP into the following pieces:

• Four pieces measuring 5.5” x 4.25”

• Twelve strips measuring 4” x 1”

3️⃣ Create the Triangle Accents:

Take the four 5.5” x 4.25” pieces and cut each one diagonally in half to form eight triangles. These will be used to create the stylish diagonal design on the card fronts.

💡 Pro Tip: When cutting diagonally, pay attention to paper orientation. If you want a uniform look across all your cards, be sure to cut each piece in the same direction. Want a little extra variety? Flip some pieces for an alternating pattern!

Step 3: Cut the Blackberry Bliss Cardstock (Cutting Guide B)

Cutting Guide B: “Cardstock magic in the making! These triangles will add depth and dimension to the design. 🔺✨

🔺 Cardstock magic in the making! These triangles add depth and dimension.

1️⃣ Choose Your Cardstock:

For this step, you’ll need Blackberry Bliss 8.5”x11” Cardstock—a rich, deep hue that perfectly complements the purple Regal Winter DSP we are using for this set.

2️⃣ Follow Cutting Guide B:

Use your paper trimmer to cut the cardstock into the following pieces:

• Four pieces measuring 4.25” x 5.5”

• Two strips measuring 4” x 1”

3️⃣ Create Triangle Accents:

Just like we did with the DSP, take the four 5.5” x 4.25” pieces and cut each one diagonally in half to form eight triangles. These will pair beautifully with the DSP triangles for the layered card design.

💡 Pro Tip: Not sure which cardstock shade will best enhance your DSP? Use the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach to find perfectly coordinated colors that bring out the best in your design. A well-matched palette makes all the difference in creating a cohesive, polished look!

Step 4: Die-Cut and Ink the Deckled Circles

Cutting guide for circles, labeled 3.25"x3.25", on two grid sheets. Includes 1"x4" sections. Text: "Cutting Guide C & D," "ThisChickLovesPaper.com."
Cutting Guide C & D: “Deckled circles in progress! These die-cuts will frame the sentiment beautifully. 🟣💜

1️⃣ Select Your Cardstock & Dies:

Using Fresh Freesia 8.5” 11” cardstock, grab your Deckled Circle Dies to create soft, textured circle elements that will layer beautifully on your card.

2️⃣ Follow Cutting Guides C & D:

Die-cut circles from the Fresh Freesia cardstock according to Cutting Guides C & D to ensure precise sizing for your design.

💡 Pro Tip: To make your layers pop, choose a cardstock color that contrasts with the shade used in Cutting Guide B. This contrast adds definition, ensuring each layer stands out while keeping the design cohesive.

Die-cut perfection! Deckled Circle Dies + Highland Heather = the perfect focal point! 💜

3️⃣ Ink the Edges for Extra Dimension:

Using a sponge dauber and a Highland Heather Classic Stampin’ Pad, gently ink the edges of each Fresh Freesia deckled circle. This subtle touch adds depth and definition, making your layers stand out beautifully on the card front.

💡 Pro Tip: Lightly dab or swirl the dauber around the edges for a soft, blended effect. If you want a bolder look, layer the ink gradually until you achieve the desired depth!

Step 5: Additional Die Cuts with White Willow (Cutting Guide E)

Cutting Guide E (White): “Crisp, clean, and ready to stamp! These sentiment bases tie everything together. 📝💌

1️⃣ Die-Cut the Sentiment Base:

Using a 12x12 sheet of White Willow Cardstock, die-cut 12 circles with the Deckled Circle Dies (cut one extra for backup).

2️⃣ Stamp the Sentiment:

Take the “Grateful For You” stamp from the Autumn Expressions Stamp Set and stamp the sentiment onto each White Willow circle using Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin’ Pad—the same color used in Cutting Guide B.

💡 Pro Tip: Ink up your stamp evenly and press firmly for a crisp, bold sentiment. If you prefer a softer look, stamp off once on scratch paper before stamping onto the cardstock.

The sentiment circle is prepped, and the floral embellishments are ready—now for the finishing touches!

3️⃣ Layer & Adhere:

Once the ink is dry, adhere each stamped White Willow circle onto the larger Fresh Freesia deckled circle. This layered design adds depth and creates a beautiful focal point for your cards.

✨ With our sentiment pieces ready, let’s add the elegant finishing touches!

Elegant Foil Strips & Sprigs

Silver and gold metallic sheets with a brushed texture overlap on a neutral background, showcasing contrast and sleek design.

1️⃣ Cut the Foil Strips:

Using Brushed Silver & Gold Foil Specialty Paper, cut eleven 1/4” x 8” strips. These strips will add a metallic accent that enhances the card’s elegance. Any excess can be trimmed after assembly for a clean, polished finish.

2️⃣ Die-Cut the Sprigs:

Select a sprig-shaped die (such as the leaf from the Poinsettia Petals Die Set) and cut sprigs from Brushed Silver Foil Specialty Paper. These delicate accents bring texture and movement to the design, tying all the elements together beautifully.

💡 Pro Tip: If you want to create even more variety, mix gold and silver foil sprigs or layer multiple sprigs for extra dimension.

Step 7: Stamp & Die-Cut Floral Embellishments

Stamp pads, flower-stamped papers, and a "Regal Flora" stamp set on a teal background. Text: "ThisChickLovesPaper.com".
Stamped and ready! Time to die-cut and bring these florals to life! ✂️🌸

To add a pop of color and a touch of floral elegance, we’ll be stamping and die-cutting flowers from the Regal Flora Bundle.

1️⃣ Stamp the Floral Elements:

Using Stampin’ Up! Classic Stampin’ Pads, stamp the following:

✔ 22 small flowers in Highland Heather or Fresh Freesia.

✔ 11 large flowers in Blackberry Bliss or Gorgeous

2️⃣ Die-Cut the Flowers:

Once stamped, use the coordinating dies to cut out each floral piece. Organize them into separate piles for easy assembly when we start layering the card!

💡 Pro Tip: To add dimension, try gently curling the edges of the petals with your fingers or a bone folder. This small step makes the flowers appear more lifelike and dynamic!

Stamp the Inside & Back of Each Card (Optional, But Highly Recommended!)

For a beautifully finished look, let’s add a touch of personalization to the inside and back of each card!

Stamp supplies on teal backdrop, featuring "Thanks" cards, ink pad, and leaf stamps. Text: ThisChickLovesPaper.com, Stampin’ Up!©
Inside details matter! A little extra stamping makes every card feel complete. 📝

1️⃣ Stamp the Inside Sentiment:

✔ Use the same ink color as Cutting Guide B for a cohesive design. In this case, we’re stamping with Stampin’ Up! Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin’ Pad.

✔ Since these cards are for my customers, I’m using sentiments from the My Small Business Stamp Set, but feel free to customize them with any message that fits your occasion!

💡 Pro Tip: If you’re a card maker who loves adding a professional touch, invest in a custom stamp for the back of your cards! Stamping a simple message like “Handmade by (your name)” not only makes your work feel polished but also reminds the recipient that their card was crafted with care, just for them.

Assemble the Cards – Bringing It All Together!

Now for the fun part—putting all the pieces together to create a stunning finished card!

Crafting supplies on a teal background include a "Grateful for You" card, floral paper, silver leaf, purple flowers, and ribbon.
The foundation of this stunning thank-you card starts with crisp layers and striking angles!

1️⃣ Attach the DSP & Cardstock Pieces:

✔ Adhere one diagonal piece of Regal Winter DSP and one diagonal piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to each card base.

✔ This creates a beautiful two-toned design that adds depth and contrast!

2️⃣ Add the Foil Strip for a Polished Look:

✔ Lay a 1/4” x 8” Brushed Silver or Gold Foil strip along the diagonal seam where the DSP and cardstock meet.

✔ Trim any excess for a clean, seamless edge that enhances the design without overpowering it.

💡 Pro Tip: The foil strip isn’t just for decoration—it helps create a natural break between the two patterned sections, making the layout feel polished and intentional!

3️⃣ Position the Sprigs – A Touch of Elegance!

A little sparkle, a little layering, and a whole lot of handmade love. 💖

Now, let’s add some delicate sprigs to enhance the composition and add a hint of shimmer!

🌿 Place the Die-Cut Sprigs:

✔ Position one or two sprigs in the bottom right-hand corner of the card base.

✔ Arrange them so they slightly extend beyond the deckled circle for a natural, flowing look.

💡 Pro Tip: Don’t overthink it! Sprigs should complement the design, not overpower it. If you love a minimal look, use just one. If you want a fuller effect, layer two together for extra dimension.

4️⃣ Position the Circle Cluster

Purple floral card with "Grateful for You" text, silver leaves accent, on a teal background with floral stickers. Moods of appreciation.
The sentiment circle is prepped, and the floral embellishments are ready—now for the finishing touches!

✔ Center the Deckled Circle cluster on the card base.

✔ Make sure the stamped sentiment is front and center, adding a heartfelt touch to your design.

✔ Press down firmly to secure it in place.

💡 Pro Tip: If you’re using liquid adhesive, place something heavy (like an acrylic block) on top for a few seconds to keep everything flat while drying.

5️⃣ Arrange Floral Embellishments for Depth & Dimension!

✔ Position two smaller Regal Flora die-cut pieces around the Deckled Circle cluster.

✔ Leave enough space between them for the larger floral—it’s going to be the star of the show!

🌿 Add Dimension with Foam Tape!

✔ Apply foam tape to the back of the larger Regal Flora die-cut.

✔ Place it between and slightly overlapping the two smaller florals to create a layered, dimensional look.

6️⃣ Add Final Embellishments for a Touch of Elegance

Purple floral card on teal background reads "Grateful for You" with embellishments and metallic accents. Elegant and appreciative mood.
This deep, rich floral design paired with metallic accents makes the perfect heartfelt thank-you card! 💜✨

✔ Choose between Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots or Cherry Cobbler & Clear Adhesive-Backed Berries.

✔ Place one above and one below the stamped sentiment for perfect balance.

✔ Step back and admire the way these tiny accents add sparkle, texture, and a little extra magic!

✨ And that’s it! Your handmade gratitude card is complete—ready to bring joy to someone’s mailbox! 🎨💕
