Welcome back, creative friends! If you’ve been following along, you know I recently shared a set of quick, elegant holiday gratitude cards crafted with Stampin’ Up!’s Regal Winter DSP, Regal Flora, and Autumn Expressions Stamp & Die Bundles—perfect for showing appreciation this holiday season.
After posting that first blog, I was thrilled to receive multiple requests for a detailed easy to follow tutorial on one of the card designs. In a follow-up blog, “Quick & Beautiful Gratitude Cards: Materials & Instructions - Card 1,” I shared step-by-step instructions for creating this beautiful holiday gratitude card.
Now, by popular demand, I’m thrilled to present easy to follow instructions for handmade holiday greeting Card 2 in this series! This blog features a comprehensive cutting guide that allows you to create 11 cards in total—three following the layout from Card 1 (see the previous tutorial) and eight with this unique design for Card 2.
So gather your materials, follow the guides, and let’s make this holiday season truly special with handmade gratitude cards that your recipients will cherish!

Easy To Follow Step By Step Instructions &
Cutting Guide:
For this project, I’ve created a set of cutting guides to make the process easy and organized. Each section in the blog will specify which cutting guide to use, indicating the exact paper and measurements needed to create either horizontal or vertical cards. Simply follow the instructions for each guide, and you’ll have perfectly cut pieces ready for assembly!
• Pro Tip: Organize your cut pieces by shape and color to streamline quick assembly.
Step 1: Create the Card Bases
1. Cut 6 pieces of Stampin’ Up! Basic White 8.5" x 11" Thick Cardstock in half to create 12 pieces of 8” x 5.5” cardstock (one extra for backup).
2. Score each piece at 4.25” to create 12 card bases. (one extra for backup).
Step 2: Cut Regal Winter DSP (Cutting Guide A)
1. Use a 12x12 piece of Stampin’ Up! Regal Winter DSP . For todays cards we are using a purple floral mix.
2. Follow Cutting Guide A. When cutting is comple, you should have four 5.5” x 4.25” & twelve 4”x1” pieces.
3. Cut each of the four 5.5” x 4.25” DSP pieces diagonally in half to create triangle pieces for the card fronts.
Pro Tip: when cutting diagonal, pay attention to the orientation of the paper and make sure that you are cutting all of the pieces the same direction if you want a uniform look.
If you’d like more variety, feel free to change the orientation, but remember to cut your matching cardstock the same way for consistency.
Step 3: Select and Cut 8.5”x11” Cardstock (Cutting Guide B)
1. For this card, we will be using Blackberry Bliss 8.5”x11” Cardstock for Cutting Guide B.
2. Follow Cutting Guide B. When cutting is complete, you should have four 4.25” x 5.5” pieces and two 4” x 1” pieces.
3. Cut each of the four 5.5” x 4.25” pieces diagonally in half to create triangle pieces for the card fronts.
Pro Tip: Use the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach to select coordinating cardstock colors that complement each design in the Regal Winter DSP for a beautifully harmonious look.
Step 4: Die-Cut and Ink the Deckled Circles
1. Use Cutting Guides C & D to die-cut circles. For these cards, we are cutting Fresh Freesia (8.5”x11” cardstock) with the Deckled Circle Dies.
Pro Tip: Choose a contrasting color between Cutting Guide B cardstock and Guides C & D cardstock for better definition and contrast on the card.
2. Ink the edges of each circle using a sponge dauber and a Classic Stampin’ Pad color for added depth. For these cards, we will be inking up the Fresh Freeshia cardstock circle edges in Highland Heather Classic Stampin' Pad.
Step 5: Additional Die Cuts with White Willow (Cutting Guide E)
1. From a 12x12 sheet of White Willow Cardstock, die-cut 12 circles with the Deckled Circle Dies (one extra for backup).
2. Stamp “Grateful For You” from the “Autumn Expressions” Stamp Set on each circle. Use the same Stampin’ Up! Classic Stampin’ Pad color ink as the Stampin’ Up! Cardstock used in Cutting Guide B. For these cards that would be Classic BlackBerry Bliss.
3. Once dry, adhere each White Willow circle to the larger Fresh Freesia cardstock circle.
Step 6: Cut Foil Strips and Sprigs
1. Cut eleven 1/4” x 8” strips from Brushed Silver & Gold Foil, trimming any excess after assembly.
2. Cut sprigs from the Brushed Silver Foil Speciality Paper using any sprig shaped die. I used the leaf from the Autumn Expressions Die set, a perfect touch for this card’s theme.
Step 7: Stamp Floral Embellishments from the Regal Flora Bundle
1. Using Stampin’ Up! Classic Stampin’ Pads:
• Stamp 22 small flowers in Highland Heather.
• Stamp 11 large flowers in Blackberry Bliss.
2. Die-cut each flower and set them in piles to prepare for assembly.
Step 8: Stamp the Inside and Back of Each Card (Optional)
1. Stamp a sentiment inside each card using the same ink color as Guide B. For these cards we are using Stampin’ Up! Classic BlackBerry Bliss Stampin’ Pad.
Since these cards are for my Customers, I am using sentiments from the My Small Business Stamp Set.
2. If you want to add a little extra detail to the inside, stamp the small flower from the Regal Flora Stamp Set in the same color that you are using for the sentiment. Again, for these cards we are using Stampin’ Up! Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin’ Pad.
Pro Tip: If you’re an avid card maker like me, consider investing in a personalized stamp to stamp the back of your card. Adding a thoughtful sentiment like “Handmade by (your name),” gives your cards a polished, professional touch. It’s also a lovely reminder to the recipient that their card was crafted with care just for them!
Step 9: Assemble the Cards
1. Adhere DSP and Cardstock Pieces
• Attach one diagonal piece of Regal Winter DSP and one diagonal piece of Blackberry Bliss 8.5 x 11"cardstock to each card base, creating a unique two-toned design.
2. Add Foil Strip
• Lay the 1/4” x 8” foil strip across the diagonal line where the DSP and cardstock meet, trimming any excess for a seamless look.
3. Position Sprigs
• Place the die-cut sprigs in the bottom right-hand corner of the card base. You can use one or two sprigs. The choice is yours!
4. Position Circle Cluster
• Attach the Deckled Circle cluster to the center of the card.
5. Arrange Floral Embellishments
• Position two smaller Regal Flora die-cut pieces around the Deckled Circle cluster, leaving enough space between them for the larger floral. Please see the photo above.
• Add foam tape to the back of the larger Regal Flora die-cut and place it between and slightly overlapping the two smaller florals for added dimension.
6. Add Final Embellishments
• Finish by placing Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots or Cherry Cobbler & Clear Adhesive-Backed Berries above and below the stamped sentiment. These accents add sparkle and help fill in any remaining space.
Play with Paper & Embellishment Placement
Get creative with the materials, and don’t be afraid to experiment with colors and layouts!
• Try different placements for your DSP strips or rotate the card base horizontally to vertically and create different looks while using the same measurements.
• You can also switch embellishment placements from left to right for a fresh design.
• You can even switch the type of sprigs or not use a sprig at all.
• For an extra twist, swap the deckled circles with square dies for an entirely new card look.
