Hello, crafty friends! April here, from This Chick, Loves Paper. Today, I want to share a story that’s very close to my heart—how a challenging time led me to discover my passion for crafting and why I’m so excited to bring you into my world of creativity and joy.
In May 2022, what started as a routine trip to the ER quickly turned into a life-defining moment. The doctors hit me with a label: “terminal.” They doubted I’d see Christmas that year. At first, I couldn’t believe it; how could something as trivial as an infected belly button lead to this? But as reality sank in, instead of succumbing to despair, I found a surprising source of strength—my memories.
Each photo on my phone wasn’t just a picture; it was a doorway to laughter, stories, and forgotten moments with my little one. It was then I realized the power of preserving these memories. That realization sparked my love for scrapbooking and crafting, turning digital snapshots into tangible keepsakes that captured our life’s joy and laughter.
My scrapbooking journey began in earnest in July 2023 with Close To My Heart. However, as the doors closed on CTMH in April 2024, I embraced a new beginning with Stampin’ Up! Their rich history and community spirit made it the perfect home for my crafting passion.
