Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m excited to dive into a festive scrapbooking adventure using the vibrant “Let’s Party” collection from Close To My Heart. This collection is a treasure trove of crafting goodness, perfect for documenting those special celebratory moments.
The Collection:
The “Let’s Party” collection is designed to add a vibrant and celebratory touch to your crafting projects. Here’s what makes it a standout choice:
• Product Range: This collection is packed with double-sided patterned papers, coordinating stickers, cardstocks, and acrylic shapes. The Scrapbooking Stamp + Thin Cuts set, which includes versatile designs like numbers and festive icons, can be adapted for any age or occasion.
• Colors: Known for its bright and playful palette, “Let’s Party” is ideal for party-themed projects.
Here’s How I Brought It All Together:
1. Setting the Foundation: I started with scraps, cutting strips from various papers in the collection, including Bluebird and Honey Butter. Alternating between the dark and light sides of the two-toned cardstock, I adhered these strips to the top and bottom of my White Daisy cardstock.
2. Center Stage: The patterned papers were positioned in the center, setting a lively backdrop for the photos and embellishments.
3. Elevating Elements: I added foam tape to the back of the happy birthday banner for dimension, placing it in the top left corner.
4. Photos: Photos were double-matted with White Daisy and Bluebird cardstock, staggered in height and tilt to add interest.
5. Balloon Accents: Balloon die cuts were placed strategically to form part of the visual triangle, with stickers enhancing their centers.
6. Festive Flair: I stamped sentiments, and possibly images of cupcakes and presents (names to be added), coloring them with Tri-Blend Markers.
7. Sparkle and Shine: To finish, I used a white gel pen to add hand-drawn stitching along the strips and larger stars. I then used a clear shimmer brush and added sparkles over the clusters. Both techniques, infuse a crafted charm.
This layout not only captures the essence of my little man’s first real birthday ~ The “Batman Pizza Pool Party” but also showcases the utility of the Let’s Party collection in creating a memorable scrapbook page.
Sweet Moments with a Side of Humor:
One of the most memorable aspects of the “Batman Pizza Pool Party” wasn’t just the joy and laughter of the children, but the aftermath of the Batman-themed cake—decked out in daring black icing. While the cake was a hit, it left a hilarious mark on everyone, especially my little man. For days after the party, he sported a black-iced mustache that seemed almost permanent, as if he’d gotten creative with a Sharpie! This led to a week filled with chuckles every time I looked at his stained smile. I’ve since made a humorous vow—no more cakes with black icing, no matter how cool they look! It’s a sweet, sticky reminder of the fun we had and a story we’ll chuckle about for years to come.
