How to Make a Christmas Wreath Scrapbook Layout with Stampin’ Up! Punches!

Updated: 2 days ago

If you love Christmas crafting as much as I do, then you’re going to enjoy this festive project—my Christmas Goodies Wreath Scrapbook Layout! This layout captures the magic of the holiday season and the joy of creating and sharing treats with loved ones. Plus, I’ll be sharing individual recipe pages for each goodie inside our gift boxes soon, so stay tuned!

This layout was inspired by a previous scrapbook design I created in Design Space®️, originally featuring “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Santa Sweetest Star Wreath.” Even though this is my third time using this particular layout, switching the star shapes to circles made a huge difference, giving it a fresh and festive new look! Plus, the Take A Bow DSP added a wonderful touch of holiday cheer.

Materials You’ll Need for the Christmas Goodies Wreath Layout

To create this beautiful Christmas wreath layout, you’ll need the following supplies:

Circle Punches: 1-3/4” and 2”.

Cricut®️ or circle Thin Cuts for cutting smaller circles that aren’t covered by punches.

White Gel Pen for adding hand-drawn stitch details.

Stampin’ Up! Classic Stampin' Pads: Real Red, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, CTMH Intense Black.

CTMH Lagoon Shimmer Brush for adding shine and texture.

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Seasons Dies for the word “Christmas”.

Foam Tape, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Seal Adhesives for assembling and adding dimension.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Creating the Wreath Layout

1. Create the Border

Start by using Pool Party Cardstock as the layout border. Cut a piece of White Willow cardstock to measure 11.5” x 11.5” and use the Lagoon-Shimmer Brush to splatter the corners, giving the page a sparkling festive feel. Attach the White Willow base to the Pool Party border for a cohesive look.

2. Punching Circles for the Wreath

• Punch four 2” circles in Real Red and Garden Green using the Take A Bow DSP.

• Punch four 2” circles from Granny Apple Green and Pool Party Cardstock.

• Punch four 1-3/8” circles using the Real Red striped Take A Bow DSP.

• Cut 1” circles in Pretty In Pink and Crumb Cake

• Cut four 1/2” circles in Crumb Cake Cardstock.

3. Add Hand Stitching Details

Using a white gel pen, add hand-drawn stitching details around each circle. This step adds that handcrafted charm, giving each piece a polished and detailed look.

4. Arrange Circles into a Wreath Shape

Now that you have all your circles ready, arrange them in a wreath shape on your layout. This wreath will serve as the perfect frame for your holiday photos and title embellishments.

5. Double Mat the Photos

• For the main photo, use White Willow Cardstock cut to 4.25” x 4.25” and Pool Party at 4.5” x 4.5”.

• For the smaller photo, mat a 2.75” x 2.75” photo using White Willow and Real Red cardstock.

6. Adding the Title

• Die cut the word “Christmas” in Real Red cardstock, using White Willow Cardstock for its background mat with the Peaceful Seasons Die Set. Place two Adhesive Backed Dots For Days above the “mad” at an angle.

• The word “Goodies” was created in Design Space®️ and cut with the Cricut®️. The font reminded me of the Grinch, which was what we were watching when making all of these goodies!! Adding this title piece gives the layout a personal detail but also a lovely focal point, tying the theme together.

7. Adding the Bow and Embellishments

The bow embellishment used was cut in Real Red and White Willow Cardstock using a CTMH Digital Art Kit and the Cricut®️. Before assembling, I inked up the edges in CTMH Intense Black and Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad to add contrast, then drew hand stitching with the white gel pen for that added handcrafted touch. Finally, I adhered it to the wreath using foam tape for dimension and placed an Adhesive Backed Dots For Days in the center.

The Importance of Reusing Layouts in Crafting

Reusing scrapbook layouts is a great way to save time while allowing you to put a new creative spin on your projects. Although this is my third time using this layout, replacing stars with circles gave it a completely new look—proof that a small change can make a big impact! It’s a fantastic way to build on what already works while keeping things exciting and fresh.

Coordinating Colors for This Layout

To help bring everything together seamlessly, make sure to have the following coordinating colors in your crafting supplies:

Having these colors in Stampin’ Pads, Stampin’ Blends, and Cardstock ensures that every element is perfectly matched and cohesive, making your project truly stand out!

Final Thoughts

Creating the Christmas Goodies Wreath Scrapbook Layout was all about capturing the festive spirit and joy of the holiday season—especially the fun of crafting gift boxes filled with goodies! By switching up elements, like replacing star embellishments with circles, and incorporating bright Christmas colors from the Take A Bow DSP, this layout turned into something extra special.
