For this magical Disney scrapbook layout, I wanted to capture the whimsy, sparkle, and pure nostalgia of Ariel’s world. 🌊💖 But this wasn’t just any page—this was a story-filled, full-circle moment that turned into one of my favorite traditions at Disney’s California Adventure!

🏰 A Story Worth Scrapping: The Tradition Behind the Layout!
Once upon a Disney trip… (cue dreamy music 🎶✨), I had one mission: Ride Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Disney’s California Adventure. 🌊🐠
My son? Not so much. 😂
He wasn’t feeling it, so we made a deal:
📸 Take a picture in front of the ride, and we’ll ride it next time.
Fast forward to our next trip, and guess what? The tradition stuck! Every time we visit, we recreate the moment with new photos—and yes, we FINALLY ride the attraction! 😂🏰
Under the Sea Magic! Creating a 12x12 Disney Little Mermaid Scrapbook Layout That Shimmers & Shines
This layout needed to capture the feel of the ocean, the shimmer of underwater magic, and the bold colors of Ariel’s world. Here’s how I made it happen!

• For the photo, I double-matted it using a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of Petunia Pop cardstock, a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of white daisy cardstock, and a 4 x 4 photo.

🌊 Adding Waves of Detail with Glimmer Paper!
The Glimmer Paper waves were my favorite part of this design! They cut beautifully with my Cricut®, and let’s be real—this page needed all the sparkle to match the magic of The Little Mermaid.
🔹 Pro Tip: Want Cricut-cut waves to stand out? Layer multiple shades of glimmer paper and slightly offset them for a realistic ocean effect! 🌊✨
🐠 How to Keep “Round We Go” Dies from Losing Their Shape!
If you’ve ever tried to keep pinwheels sturdy in a scrapbook layout, you know the struggle! Here’s my foolproof way to keep them looking perfect:
🔹 Paper Clips Hack:
After gluing, use small binder clips or paper clips to hold pinwheels in place while they dry.
🔹 Fabric Stiffener Trick:
Lightly spritzing the underside with Stiffening starch prevents them from flattening over time.
🔹 Foam Strips for Extra Hold: Add foam strips in hollow areas to make sure they stay put!
These little tricks make all the difference and ensure your layout keeps its dimension long after the magic fades! ✨

As I was adding the final touches, my son peeked over my shoulder and went:

That’s when I knew I’d nailed it. 🥰 And honestly? The photos don’t even do the sparkle justice!
