Hello, crafty explorers! Today, I’m thrilled to take you on a scrapbooking adventure inspired by one of Disney’s California Adventure’s less-publicized attractions - the serene pathway and stunning waterfall hidden behind the thrilling Grizzly River Run. As a Disney enthusiast who visits every Christmas, capturing these lesser-seen aspects provides a fresh perspective on the magic of the park.
Materials Used:
• Close To My Heart “The Good Life” Scrapbook Kit: Perfect for its rustic themes that mirror the natural beauty of Grizzly River Run.
• Cardstock in Multiple Colors: To craft the dynamic water effects.
• White Gloss Spray and Inking Supplies: For adding texture and a lifelike feel to the water elements.
• Digital Art Kit “The Good Life”: Features mining and rustic accents that complement the theme.
• “Smores Adventure” Stamp Set: For whimsical touches that bring the layout to life.
Crafting the Layout:
1. Background Creation: I started by crafting the backdrop of the rushing river using cardstock to form waves and splashes, enhancing them with inked edges and white gloss spray to depict the roaring waters of Grizzly River Run.
2. Photo Selection: The focus was on the entrance and the hidden pathway, paired with images of the waterfall to capture the journey’s start and its serene conclusion.
3. Adding Details: Utilizing elements from the digital art kit, I incorporated mining items and rustic accents. The adorable bears from the “Smores Adventure” stamp set were positioned as if enjoying the raft ride, tying in the fun and adventure.
4. Sentiment and Embellishments: I used the Cricut® to cut out a sentiment that echoes the theme of discovery. Embellishments like the bears in a raft added layers of storytelling to the layout.
Using elements from "The Good Life" digital art kit, such as mining items and rustic accents, I brought the theme of discovery and adventure to the forefront of the layout.
Stamps from the "Smores Adventure" set, including the adorable bear, added a touch of whimsy and character to the overall design.
Reflection
Crafting this layout was a delightful dive into the less explored parts of Disney’s California Adventure, blending the thrill of Grizzly River Run with the tranquility of its secluded waterfall. It’s a tribute to the hidden gems that make every visit to Disney a discovery.
