Let’s dive into the world of stencils, those indispensable tools that bring so much to our crafting tables! Affordable, versatile, and fun, stencils allow us to effortlessly add color, depth, and dimension to our projects, unleashing endless creative possibilities.
Recently, I joined the “Creative Design Team” for their “31 Days of Christmas Card Techniques.” One session focused on “Scene Building,” featuring the “Triangle Tree” stencil from Close To My Heart. Though my ink collection was limited to a single shade of green called “Jade,” this constraint didn’t curb my creativity. Instead, it sparked a delightful twist on the technique.
As I rummaged through my crafting stash, I found the stencil but realized that I didn't have the exact colors of ink used in the demonstration. While they were playing with multiple shades of greens, I only had one - "Jade." Not one to shy away from a creative challenge, I decided to make the most of what I had and put my own twist on the technique.
To my delight, the practice page turned out beautifully - surpassing my expectations and filling me with a sense of creative satisfaction. Even though it was initially just a "practice page," I couldn't bear to discard it. And so, the unexpected happened - it transformed into a scrapbook page, lovingly deemed "The page that happened by accident."
