Some scrapbook layouts are carefully planned. Others? Well… they just happen! This one falls into the happy accident category!
What started as a simple stencil test for a Christmas card turned into a full-blown winter scrapbook layout! I was experimenting with layering stencils—playing with depth, shading, and placement—on what was supposed to be just a scratch piece of cardstock. But as I worked, I realized something…
It actually looked really good.
Like, too good to toss in the scrap pile! ❄️🎨
So what did I do? I turned it into a layout, of course! (Because let’s be honest—when inspiration strikes, you go with it! 😂)
❄️ Materials Used: A Snowstorm of Creativity!
Here’s everything I used to bring this frosty wonderland to life:
✔ White Daisy Cardstock – The perfect snowy base for trees, stamped images, and crisp backgrounds.
✔ CTMH Black Intense Ink – Ideal for crisp, smudge-proof stamped images!
✔ CTMH Exclusive Inks in Jade, Glacier & Periwinkle – A cool winter color palette for depth, shadows, and sky effects.
✔ Triangle Tree Stencil – The star of the show! This stencil created the perfect forest backdrop.
✔ Snowbody Like You Stamp & Thin Cuts – Because no winter scene is complete without an adorable snowman! ⛄
✔ Clear Shimmer Brush – To make the snow glisten like real frost! ✨
✔ Assorted Markers – Perfect for coloring in stamped images and adding finishing details.
💡 Pro Tip: When blending ink over stencils, start light and build up the color in layers. This prevents harsh edges and creates a soft, natural snowfall effect!
⛄ Stencil Magic: Creating a Winter Wonderland!
Let’s talk about the real MVP of this layout—the Triangle Tree Stencil! 🌲 This little tool transformed my background from plain to picture-perfect, and I am OBSESSED.
Using Jade, Glacier & Periwinkle inks, I blended over the stencil to create a forest scene with layered depth and soft shadows—exactly the winter vibe I was going for!
✔ Lighter ink at the top = Creates a frosty, sky-like atmosphere.
✔ Darker ink toward the bottom = Adds grounded depth for a more realistic look.
💡 Pro Tip: Want to create fading snowfall? Use a sponge dauber to gently blend Periwinkle ink over the top portion of your layout. It’ll mimic a chilly winter sky!
What’s a winter layout without a cute snowman?! ⛄
I used the Snowbody Like You Stamp & Thin Cuts to create an adorable, layered snowman—stamped in Black Intense Ink (because let’s be honest, we do not want smudges here!).
After stamping, I colored in the details with assorted markers to bring this frosty friend to life. Then, I die-cut him and popped him up with foam adhesive for added dimension!
💡 Pro Tip: Use a Clear Shimmer Brush over the snowman’s body to give him that freshly fallen sparkle! ✨
🎉 Why This CTMH Winter Scrapbook Layout with Stencil Is A Snowy Favorite!
This page may have started with a few crafting mishaps (hello, ink smudges! 😂), but in the end, it became one of my favorite winter scrapbook layouts ever!
✔ It’s STENCIL-TASTIC! – The Triangle Tree Stencil totally stole the show and made this page feel magical!
✔ It’s COZY & FROSTY! – The ink blending, tree layering, and shimmer brush details bring the chill of winter to life.
✔ It’s a Reminder That Mistakes Lead to Masterpieces! – Seriously—don’t be afraid to experiment! (Even if you accidentally create a snowstorm instead of a dusting. 😂❄️)
