Hello, crafty souls! April here from This Chick Loves Paper. Today, I’m excited to share a special scrapbook page that beautifully bridges the gap between generations, featuring the Close To My Heart (CTMH) “Love Notes” collection.
Crafting the Layout:
To commemorate the deep connection between my mother and me, I created a layout that symbolizes love and understanding across generations. Despite having limited scraps left from the “Love Notes” collection, I incorporated a variety of hearts, focusing on colors like Scarlet, Peach, and White Daisy to complement the black and white photo centerpiece.
Materials Used:
• CTMH ‘Love Notes’ Collection: Employed for its soft pastels and heartfelt motifs.
• Cardstock: Pine, Periwinkle, Peach, Sage, and Honeybutter.
• Stamp Pads: Coordinated with the cardstock colors.
• Embellishments: Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries, adding elegance to the layout.
Designing in Design Space®️:
I utilized Design Space®️ to meticulously plan and visualize the layout before cutting. The crafting process included:
1. Cutting Shapes: Using my Cricut®, I cut multiple sized hearts and the main title.
2. Assembly: I began with a White Daisy Cardstock base, double matted with Scarlet Cardstock for a vibrant frame.
3. Detailing: Edges of the hearts were inked in black, and Peach ink was blended around the layout to enhance depth and warmth. Scarlet shimmer was also splattered for sparkle.
Adding Sentiment and Final Touches:
To bridge our generational story, I added journaling on Avery strips, expressing heartfelt sentiments that resonate with shared experiences. I positioned them on all four sides of the page. I like how doing so added another fun detail that you don’t see on other layouts.

This creation is not just a scrapbook layout; it’s a visual narrative that captures the essence of familial bonds. It serves as a reminder that despite the years between us, the emotions and experiences we share are timeless.
