Using the “Country Woods” Designer Paper and CTMH cardstock colors “Scarlet” and “Sapphire,” you can create a rustic Americana card that’s both stunning and heartfelt.
Materials Needed:
• Designer Paper: “Country Woods” Designer Paper
• Cardstock: CTMH “Scarlet” & “Sapphire”
• Stamp Sets: Stampin’ Up! “My Small Business” and “Light the Sky”
• Ink Pads: CTMH “Sapphire” ink, CTMH “Scarlet” ink
• Dies: Stampin’ Up! “Stylish Shapes”
• Embellishments: Stampin’ Up! “Industrial Trinkets”
• Tools: Cricut machine, paper trimmer, adhesive, distressing tool
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Gather Your Materials:
Collect your leftover “Country Woods” Designer Paper scraps and cut them into 1 inch x 4 inch strips. These will form the base of your card design.
2. Prepare Your Card Base:
Cut a piece of white cardstock to your desired card size. Typically, an A2 size (4.25” x 5.5”) works well. Score and fold the cardstock to create your card base.
3. Create the Rustic Strips:
Distress the edges of the 1 inch x 4 inch paper strips using a distressing tool or the edge of your scissors to give them a worn, rustic look. Adhere these strips onto the card base in a visually appealing pattern, alternating between different patterns of the “Country Woods” paper.
4. Cut and Attach Stars:
Use your Cricut machine to cut stars from CTMH “Scarlet” and “Sapphire” cardstock. Layer and adhere the stars to the card, ensuring they overlap the distressed strips for a cohesive design.
5. Stamp and Cut the Sentiment:
Using the Stampin’ Up! “Light Up My Small Business” stamp set, stamp the “Thank You” sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock with “Sapphire” ink.
Die cut the sentiment with the Stampin’ Up! “Stylish Shapes” dies. Adhere the sentiment onto a strip of “Scarlet” cardstock for added contrast and dimension.
6. Add Sparkle:
Embellish the card with a few Stampin’ Up! “Industrial Trinkets” to add a touch of sparkle and interest.
7. Finish the Inside:
For the inside of the card, stamp the fireworks image from the “Light the Sky” stamp set using “Scarlet” ink. This adds a festive and celebratory touch that complements the exterior design.
