Crafting a Beautiful Homecoming Layout with CTMH Secret Garden Collection

Preserving the excitement and joy of Homecoming night is easy when you have the right materials and techniques at your fingertips.

CREATE A STUNNING 12X12 SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

For this layout, I utilized the beautiful CTMH Secret Garden Collection, perfect for creating a stunning and elegant scrapbook page that will keep your memories alive for years to come.

Materials Used:

• CTMH Secret Garden Collection: This kit includes patterned paper with soft pastels, delicate floral designs, and coordinating embellishments.

• CTMH Cardstock: Colors used include Pine, Periwinkle, Peach, Sage, and Honeybutter.

• CTMH Stamp Pads: Matching colors in Pine, Periwinkle, Peach, Sage, and Honeybutter.

• Stampin’ Up! Cut & Emboss Machine: Used to cut the flowers, providing crisp and clean edges.

• Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries: Added to the center of flowers and scattered around the layout.

• Avery Matte Clear Shipping Labels 8663: For seamless and transparent journaling on the page.

Designing the Layout in Design Space®️:

USING DESIGN SPACE NOT ONLY GIVES ME A VISUAL, BU!T ALSO THE MEASUREMENTS

I designed this Homecoming layout using Design Space®️, which allowed me to easily arrange and customize the title and elements.

The heart shape in the center is cut from the Secret Garden patterned paper, creating a focal point that draws attention to the photos.

TITLE CREATED, PRINTED & CUT WITH CRICUT

The butterflies are from the CTMH Digital Art Kit called Honey Bunny. The title is made from a font called Both the butterflies and the title were printed and cut using my Cricut®️ machine.

Step-by-Step Guide to Creating This Layout:

1. Base Layer: I started with a 12x12 piece of CTMH Periwinkle cardstock, with the center removed to create a framed border.

2. Layering: Next, I trimmed a piece of CTMH White Daisy cardstock to 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches and adhered it to the Periwinkle cardstock base using a tape runner.

3. Heart Design: The heart shape was created by positioning strips cut from the SECRET GARDEN COORDINATING TWO-TONE CARDSTOCK on the page, carefully spacing them the same distance apart for a uniform look.

4. Die Cutting: I used the CTMH Secret Garden Thin Cuts to create the embellishments.

The larger layered flowers were die cut in Periwinkle and Honey Butter, alternating the dark and light sides of the cardstock to add depth to the layers.

Smaller flowers were die cut in Sage, Honey Butter, Periwinkle, Peach, and White Daisy Cardstock.

The leaves are all cut in Pine Cardstock.

5. Photo Mats: I double matted my 3x3 photos using a 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 piece of white daisy card stock and then a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of pine patterned paper.

Adding Character & Charm:

USING TWO TONED CARDSTOCK AND INKED EDGES TO ADD DEPTH

Besides alternating the layers between light and dark, I inked the edges using the CTMH coordinating colors. Peach on peach, Periwinkle on Periwinkle etc…

FLOWERS FROM THE SECRET GARDEN THIN CUTS

This subtle technique adds depth and highlights the intricate floral designs, making them pop off the page.

Once the flowers were dry, I positioned them with the leaf embellishments and adhered them to the page.

Finishing Touches:

The final touches include adding Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries to the flower centers and scattering them around the page for an elegant effect.

The journaling was printed on Avery matte clear shipping labels 8663, which blend seamlessly with the background.
