Welcome back, crafting friends! Today, I’m excited to share a beautiful 12x12 single-page layout featuring the enchanting Bellagio Spring 2023 display. Using the Close To My Heart (CTMH) Secret Garden collection, this layout perfectly captures the vibrant and delicate essence of the season.
Capturing the Beauty of Bellagio with the CTMH Secret Garden Collection
Materials Used:
• Sage Ink
• Periwinkle Ink
• Adhesive
Creating the Layout:
To make this layout, I used a 12x12 piece of subtle dotted patterned paper with a bolder floral pattern. I cut the bolder patterned paper in half diagonally and glued it to the top left-hand left-hand hand left-hand corner of the dotted piece.
I then added a piece of CTMH French Vanilla cardstock, cut into a 10x10 square, to the center of the page.
I matted French Vanilla cardstock onto Periwinkle cardstock to create the journaling space. I added lines 1/2” apart to guide the journaling.
To the right of my journaling, I added another floral pattern. I wasn’t sure if this would be too busy, but since most of it would be covered with photos and embellishments, I thought I would give it a try.
I cut flower embellishments from the Secret Gardens Thin Cuts in Sage and Periwinkle cardstock, inked up the edges, and layered several on top of each other. I added Pecan Pie clear and ribboned dots for a little sparkle.
I also cut sprigs and leaves out of Sage and yellow patterned paper included in the paper pack to add more texture and interest.
My title is simply “Bellagio.” I created it in Design Space®️and cut it with my Cricut®️.

A Fun Memory:
Several months ago, my son and I made a “Toy Story” layout, and I remember him making a green flower. I asked, “Green?” Lo and behold, it worked perfectly! Fast forward to this page, and look who’s making green flowers again? For this layout, with all of the floral patterns, it helps to balance the page!
Tips and Tricks:
• Inking Edges:
To add depth and dimension, I inked the edges of the photo frames and journaling frames with Sage and Periwinkle inks. This technique enhances the layers and adds a subtle, cohesive look to the layout.
• Cutting Leaves from Patterned Paper:
For added texture and interest, I cut the yellow sprigs from the Secret Garden patterned paper. This method is a great way to incorporate different patterns and colors seamlessly.
• Inking Flower Embellishments:
Inking the center of your flower embellishments from your Secret Garden Thin Cuts can create additional depth and bring your flowers to life.
