This year, I’m serving up a sweet twist on holiday cardmaking with my Baking Spirits Bright handmade cards! Inspired by our family baking traditions (and a little nod to our favorite movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas), these festive cards bring together cookie trays, spatulas, gingerbread cuties, and holiday cheer!

🎨 The Recipe for Festive Fun: What You’ll Need for Your Handmade Baking Holiday Cards!

Creating the Card Base
Start with Stampin’ Up! Basic White Thick Cardstock (8-1/2” x 11”) to create sturdy card bases. Cut each sheet in half to make two 4.25” x 5.5” bases. Score each piece at 4.25” to ensure a crisp fold.
Emboss Like a Boss!
Swirling into holiday magic! This embossed background mimics the look of cookie frosting and adds a gorgeous dimension to the card.
✔ Run White Willow cardstock through the So Swirly 3D Embossing Folder to create a textured, festive backdrop.
✔ Layer the embossed piece onto your Real Red card base for a pop of Christmas charm!

Stamp, Punch & Color Those Gingerbread Cuties!
Every card needs a little personality! Enter: the cutest gingerbread characters EVER! 🍪✨
✔ Stamp the gingerbread images from the Sweetest Star Stamp & Punch Bundle onto White Willow cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
✔ Color each one with Stampin’ Blends for that hand-decorated cookie look! (Real Red, Pool Party, and Smoky Slate make them extra cute!).
💡 Pro Tip: Give each gingerbread a unique look by adding details like buttons, scarves, or even a Santa hat!
Digital Magic: Cutting the Cookie Trays & Baking Tools!
When in doubt, let the Cricut® do the work!
✔ Using Design Space, I cut spatulas, candy canes & the “Baking Spirits Bright” sentiment in Basic Black, Real Red & Garden Green cardstock.
✔ The CTMH Freshly Baked Digital Art Kit was perfect for cookie trays & oven mitts—because what’s a baking-themed card without the tools of the trade?!
💡 Design Tip: Add a drop shadow effect by layering die-cut words over a slightly larger cardstock piece in a contrasting color. This makes them POP off the page!

✔ Layer the embossed background onto the Real Red card base.
